Saying Goodbye

new companion
Alright well hello family,
Well Im tranning now??? :S ya what the heck haha I still need a trainer but It will be a good experience! I have been humbled alot this last couple days. I now have alot of responsibility which is rough and I have a comp. that is looking up to me for everything we are suppose to be doing haha! But it's good his name is Elder Dos Santos he is from Brasil also and he speaks english which is nice. He turns 20 on the 22 sept and he is a good guy! This week we had our investigator come to church and all the spanish members fellowshipped him real well so its looking good right now for his baptism so hopefully he gets there!
This week I had a pretty cool experience! The other missionaries in our appartment got a booth in dover, mass for dover days (kinda like strawberry days just alot smaller with booths and such) but we told them we'd go down and help them because they had it from 10-4 which is along time by yourself with a booth so we headed down at like 1 with lunch for them from a lunch we had with our Steak pres. and we came to a massive carnival called Natick days and we thought maybe they were there so we walked in there forever looking for them when we ran into Pres.Evans and Sister Evans and they were lookin for them as well so we finally got a hold of them to find out where is was and so we got there at about 3:25 and when we got there it was just about over there was no one there and I guess they didn't have to much success so they started cleaning up the booth when I felt really prompted to go and talk to this group of about 15 year olds.. so I grabbed a book of mormon and headed over, I started talkin to them and asking about them and everything when I worked my way into what religion they all were and some were cathlic so I talked about how the book of mormon was another testament of Jesus Christ and a little bit of back ground on the book of mormon, I gave one of the kids the book when again I felt prompted to just ask them if they'd all want a free copy so they agreed and came over and I gave out about 10 books so I had a group of them around me asking questions and such so I told them to read 3 nephi 11 and pray about it and I commited all of them to do this.. Pres Evans came in and was my comp for a sec and helped teach we ended the conversation and they left but then 3 came back and asked if they could have like pamphlets to pass out at there school and all this stuff so it was amazing we got like 10 potential investigators for the other missionaries. But I know that it wasn't me that did it... Everyone there was like no way Elder Burton how did you do that and I could take resposibility for it because I jsut said what came to my mind which I know was from Heavenly Father. I felt kinda like ammon when he says couldn't boast in himself but he'd boast in his god! It was a really cool experience this week I really felt the spirit strong! I don't know if it is because I have had to take a leadership position but In lessons (engish lessons) I have been able to express myself and the gospel in ways I couldn't before. I know that the lord is helping me out and I feel added strength everyday! I know that through prayer we can do whatever is asked of us.. The mission is hard at times I get people yelling at me being very rude but they you get an experience where this just work out and people listen, Maybe not starting taking the discussions but listen to the message and it makes the yelling and everything worth it. Im so greatful I get to suffer these little hardships for my Lord and God it is truely a priviledge to do so... but that was just one thing cool!! My portugues is coming along pretty good.. Spanish is iffly haha but its coming!! thank you for the emails and stuff sorry I'll try to write hand written letters today when I have time but Oh and I may need a GPS everyone has one out here and now that im a driver its real hard to get around without one because I have to keep looking at the map but if we can't get one its okay just a thought! Hope everything is going well for all of you! sounds like your surviving which is good haha keep up the fight! I love you all and Miss you tons I've almost been out 4 months man crazy stuff huh but I love this and I am truely blessed out here the windows of heaven are always being opened on the missionaries Its amazing!!! but until next week!!!
