April 2, 2011

Hello everyone,

Wow what a great freaking week! I love General Conference so much haha I remember being so restless when we would watch it at home. Now as I take notes the time just flies by. I can't believe I watched 10 hours and it felt like 2!! And such great advice and direction. But lets start at the beginning of the week. Tuesday we got a phone call, kind of early, and Elder Wright picked it up.This Brazilian guy started asking if he could meet with us and talk to us a bit so we set up an appointment that night. We went over and the first thing he asks is where our church is and what exactly we do there so we explain about church and he says that he wants to come by sometime. Then he starts saying that him and his wife would like to learn english so that when they have a child they can help him in school and what not. So we set up 4 appointments a week to teach english and teach them the gospel. It was awesome I have never had anything happen like that on my mission. So we taught them the restoration, which I haven't taught a full lesson in almost 6 months hahaha kind of stinks, and it went great. They said that it made sense and that they'd read and pray :) I'm so stoked for these two. There pretty young so we laugh a lot when we teach them and it's just a good learning environment.
We also got out apartment checked this week for cleaning and I think its the first time they have actually come over to the island to do it haha. It went well we had a pretty clean apartment considering this place is pretty old and small. But the senior couple stayed and talked to us for a couple hours about life and stuff so it was super chill to hang out with them. They took us to eat afterwords as well and it was just a good day :) This week was probably one of my best weeks in a long time. I hope we can continue to find some good work until the end. But I'm glad for the counsel we have received from our leaders this week. I hope you all have a great week and thank you for the emails/letters. They truly do help me keep going. I love you all

com amor,

Elder Burton
