January 3, 2011

Alright so this week was pretty freakin sweet (for the most part)! i saw alot of progress in Nick and his wife! I think I told you that Nicks wife Pat called us up after the huge snow storm here and had us shovel her driveway right?? well we did and she really is starting to like us ( not so much the church yet but we'll get there) And then we had another lesson with nick and just kinda followed up on the W.O.W with him and he said okay well whatever it takes to be a mormon I'll do it. So that was pretty sweet and I told him that you guys pray for him and I started crying and he was really amazed at the love we have for him. He also came to church and it was the most intense testimony meeting ever. No lie haha he got up in testimony meeting and told everyone that he isn't even a member of the church yet and he already does missionary work haha pretty much rebuked everyone it was awesome i loved it. And he also talked about how he wants to be reincarnated as a woman if we believed in that haha it was so funny you should have seen the looks on peoples faces, But for the most part it was a really sweet meeting! Pres. Evans was there to interview Nick in the second hour and he and his wife really loved Nick so the interview went really well! The only down side to this whole story is Nick will not be getting baptised on Jan 8th :( I know sad for now but its because he can't really get baptised too quick because his wife might think she is lossing him. So when she sees more good changes in him then that is when he'll do it because he said if you do these kind of things cold turkey then it will mess alot of stuff up with his marriage right now so.... I may not be in the area for the baptism but he will get baptised soon so it'll be okay! Other things that happend this week were the fact that New Years sucked hahah oh my gosh so bad, way worse then Christmas! I was so home sick and trunked out at night I didn't even want to wake up the next day but... I did and now that the holidays are over im doing alot better. Also yesterday we went to a Brazillian church and it was awesome haha they had a live band and everything! We only stayed for like 15 min because we had a dinner appt with some spanish members but going to these churchs really cements the fact that THE CHRUCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS IS THE ONLY TRUE CHURCH!! I could not feel the spirit at all and all the people were feeling there was the emotion from the music.. not the spirit. So that was pretty neat! But other then that... not to much!! I got a spanish member who hasn't been to chruch in 5 years to come back for church :) he is sweet!! He DJ's for college dance parties and a bunch of stuff. I really like the guy! Oh and I know why i've stayed in this area and why im in this area to begin with! I love what im doing and i love what you're all doing:) keep up the good work!!
love,
elder burton
