Alright so just to start off, this week was pretty awesome haha I really love doing missionary work (even though I have my faults). This week I got my companion to get out and do a bunch of finding with me haha. We found a lady named Henreietta by tracking. We went in and talked to her about the first lesson and it was so awesome to be able to use the things in PMG under How to Begin Teaching in Ch. 10 to find out the concerns of others. She is a lady from Nigeria who is Christian. We taught a powerful first lesson to her and have a return appointment to teach her and hopefully her kids as well. We also had a great week with Member help. On Friday night we had the Wild family (they're really cool haha his wife was an AP at the temple.... you don't see that very often... a women AP ahha love it) Anyways the invited this friend(Jodie) of theirs over to talk to us. Right when we started talking the Lady came out and said " you know for my savior, I can give up drinking, I can go to church for 3 hours for my savior, I can pay 10% of what I get for my savior, but I know tonight I will be having sex with my boyfriend because I love him and he loves me but to just cut him off would ruin our relationship." Now that is pretty honest haha but it makes it that much easier for us as missionaries to teach someone who just lays it out there. She is literally looking for truth and its so nice to find people like her who are humble enough to say lord this is my problem... help me to fix it. I shared 1 Nephi 3:7 with her because the lord will provide a way for us to do the things he commands us. So we are fasting and praying that her boyfriend will either marry her or haha break up with her! I know the Lord with provide a way for her and ALL of us who need his help. Be Humble Enough To ASK!!!!! She is really cool haha like she was a gymnast in high school and in college as well. The because she liked traveling so much she became a pilot. She is 4'10" haha and she flew privet jet for Bill Cosby and a whole bunch of others super stars. But she gave that up to be with her daughter more often so she teaches Gymnastics at our members gym. I'm stoked for her. The lesson made me cry!! But I also had a fever during the lesson haha and on Saturday I slept 17 hours( not in a row) but I tried to get out and work but.... wasn't going to happen that day. But even with me sleeping all Saturday.. number wise this week was our best week since I've been here. I love what I do... haha I miss home but I wouldn't come home for anything. We met a guy from Trinidad this week and he has a lot of potential. I had to translate sacrament for the Cape Verdeans and I'm not to good haha so I felt bad but.... I'm improving and the Lord is with me and his angels round about me to bear me up. I love this gospel. I love the General Authorities and there inspired messages over conference. I know they are called of God and they only do god's work. The Gospel is why were here. Think about it with out the Gospel what is the purpose of life?? Go to Work, School, Money, Video games?? No, those are all pleasures in my mind. Yes they are all very necessary but we can all go without them. They only bring momentary joy. We want everlasting joy. That is the purpose of this life. Don't get caught up in the daily activities so much and think about why you are here? I know there is more to life then these pleasure items. I want to have Joy in my life and the only thing that brings this Joy is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know its true. I've seen it work! I testify that Jesus Christ Lives. This is his work we are all engaged in. I know President Thomas S. Monson is a Prophet of God. And I sure do love serving and feeling the spirit of missionary work.
