Hello first off I need to tell The Williams family thank you for the Pkg! It was so great haha all the missionaries I serve around really loved the treats ( not candy... great:)) and the CD's are amazing wow haha I loved popcorn bobbing :) haha fantastic. So again thank you! We had a pretty so so week haha were doing tons and tons and tons of tracking now. We dropped about all of our Gators because there just not quite swimming up stream if you catch my drift. That was a pretty good Pun wouldn't you say... I think the right word is Punny hahaha... man I kill myself sometimes. Anyways so we've been doing a lot of tracting and a lot of getting shut down. We did find one 12 year old kid that listened to a message and said he would read and ask if it was true. We have a return appointment this Wednesday so hopefully it goes well. Other then that we must have knocked for about 14 hours in total this week! But the lord will provided people for us to teach I know it he always does. We had some sweet service opportunities this weekend with an older member of our ward. I had to trim some of their bushes and I thought about the time we "trimmed" the apple tree haha. But we helped them for about 4 hours on Saturday. Some other pretty exciting news.. I almost got to see a freaking Tornado!!!! The weather report said one was going to hit us in providence R.I but we got nothing! It wasn't even a good thunderstorm! I was quite displeased with that whole ordeal. Haha you should have seen people here! They were all freaking out hard core. But anyways we went and tracked this street called Thayer street on Tuesday before Elder Dowdy and Elder McClellan switched back, and this is where all of the brown students hang out so a lot of missionaries are kind of afraid of this place but Elder Dowdy and I street contacted it. Lets just say the field was not white there haha but there were BEAUTIFUL WOMEN there :O haha blew my mind a little bit. I actually kind of got nervous going to talk to them but then I just turned on my smooth talking, gospel sharing switch which had no effect but hey.... I tried. :) it was fun.! Other then that... that was my wonderful week in the life of a state side missionary. We didn't get anyone to come to church but brother Swan should be going out with us a couple times this week to visit less actives so I'm pretty stoked for that.
12And now when Moroni had said these words, Zerahemnah retained his sword, and he was angry with Moroni, and he rushed forward that he might slay Moroni; but as he raised his sword, behold, one of Moroni’s soldierssmote it even to the earth, and it broke by the hilt; and he also smote Zerahemnah that he took off his scalp and itfell to the earth. And Zerahemnah withdrew from before them into the midst of his soldiers.
13And it came to pass that the soldier who stood by, who smote off the scalp of Zerahemnah, took up the scalpfrom off the ground by the hair, and laid it upon the point of his sword, and stretched it forth unto them, saying untothem with a loud voice:
14Even as this scalp has fallen to the earth, which is the scalp of your chief, so shall ye fall to the earth exceptye will deliver up your weapons of war and depart with a covenant of peace.
I love this story... I read it again this week and thought about why are so many wars in the Book of Momron. and I realized that if its written for our time they wouldn't be talking about peace haha because look outside its not a very peaceful place so it makes sense that of course they would included a whole bunch of war chapters in the Book of Mormon so that we can learn from them about how to fight our spiritual war with Satan.
I love you all and I'll talk to you next week!
