Hello there,
Well the rest of this week went pretty well.. had some really great things happen and some really lame things happen haha. We have now lost all of the dates with people who said yes to baptism due to either lack of interest/desire or just dropping us completely. Which i'm okay with, because I know that the way I explained the doctrine gave them an opportunity to accept or reject. And they have made the decision to not accept at this point. Maybe later :) planting seeds baby haha. But yeah Im still having a great time doing the work.
We had a miracle happen on Saturday. I don't know why but I had the strongest impression that I needed to invite Steph the girl who cuts my hair to learn more about the gospel. I was kind of nervous because of well the comments made and such if this was a good idea from the spirit or just my mind telling me to do it. I finally texted her and said quote " Give us 40 min to tell you something... Maybe you'll like it and if not we'll move on but I feel that I need to tell you about this and give you and opportunity to see what it is that makes us do this. what do you say?" her responds was "okay I'm in." So we decided that we'd go to a library because she wanted somewhere public. " and so did I" haha and she said no churches which was fine with me. But the library we decided to go to was actually in the middle of a monastery haha funniest thing ever when we pulled up and noticed where it was :) but we started to teach her and she was very nervous like we were going to kill her ( she did mention it a couple times) but we taught her about Joseph Smith and his first vision. It was kind of difficult to teach it because she has no belief in God but by the end of the lesson you could tell she was very interested in what we had to offer. The spirit was so strong in that area we were that I KNOW she felt the spirit. I don't know what is going to happen with her but I know that she has now left with a better understanding of this life and why we need a God. We have an appointment with her tomorrow at 12:30 and I'm optimistic that she had a good experience.
Also we had a great dinner appointment last night with Tiffany's family and friends. She has her boyfriend there and all her buddies. We ate some awesome Dominican food and then shared a message about joy. When we asked if we could share a message Tiffany's face was horrified. By the time we finished talking all there misconceptions about Mormon's were pretty much shot down because I told about my prayer experience in the canyon and also how I used to power box people and "kid nap" them as well. They now know that
1. Mormon's are normal people
2. You don't need drugs to have a good time
3. That life is about having joy not so much pleasure.
Over all I think the experience help Tiffany a lot because I think she was getting pressure from her friends about potentially being Mormon.
This week was great. I love the hard times and the easy ones. I am grateful I've had to work for the things in my life and that I learned the importance of hard work before my mission. I am grateful for the tender mercies of the Lord, and I feel them on so many occasions. I know he loves us and wants us to be happy by living within the rules the Lord has set.
