August 22, 2011

Oi, Minha familia!
Mais uma semana ja passou na missao! eh louca mas sou grato pela essa oportunidade de servir uma missao durante esse tempo, e essa hora!

This week has been great haha I love the mission so much! We had some great opportunities open to us this last week. We have made some small progress with some investigators this week in helping them understand the importance of meeting with us. And that it's there job to make time for us during the week. We set 3 baptismal dates this week which doesn't mean much unless they continue to progress. The names in order we set them are.... 1. Makkia ( 9 years old) 2. Bernice ( Makkia's aunt) and 3. Krystal

We have been working with Makkia and Bernice for a couple weeks now almost a month. They've come to church twice and want to be baptised on sept. 5 so were hoping we can meet with them enough and teach them the rest of the lessons before then. Krystal is an awesome story... she met the other missionaries on the street and they gave her our number. She called us yesterday before church and asked if she could come. We told her yes come on over so she did by herself. She stayed for all 3 hours and kept saying how "she just loves this church and she feels so welcomed here." We set up a mini gospel doctrine class and taught her alot of the first lesson. We didn't see her after church because she had to leave to do something at her house but she wanted to come back and learn more. So she came back and we taught her about the 10 commandments including chastity and sabbath day. She had to leave again after but wanted to still learn more so we set an appointment for later in the night. She came back at 7 and we taught the full Restoration with the Culley's and it was so well... The spirit was really strong and the Culley's bore powerful testimony. We committed her to a baptismal date on sept. 18 so I hope she continues to come :).

Also this week we had zone conference. It was a great zone conference because we focused on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. We had some trainings and such which were pretty good. But my favorite part was that we had a big testimony meeting for the last couple hours and to hear missionaries bare testimony is truly something of great power. I left the meeting feeling great and re-energized.

Something during studies this week was I was studying about faith and how miracles are wrought after we first put forth our faith. Look at the stories of Shadrach Meshach and Abednego. How they had to step into the firey furnice before the miracle was brought to pass... We have the stories of Daniel, Abraham, Abinadai, Nephi and Lehi, Alma and
Amulek, and Noah... I'm pretty sure it wasn't raining when Noah started building his ship. We learn that faith is required of each of us in our own lives... We must put forth our faith before the Lord shows forth his power. When I put faith in the Lord Miracles happen! I know it happens because I've seen it! The Lord is mindful of his servants here on the earth and he knows us all Individually. I love you all until next week
