16 months!! wow
Hello my family!! Thank you for all the emails wow haha I had like 25 which is pretty impressive since it's been like what... 4 days ;) so great, thank you! Well I am now in Bridgeport Connecticut. :) hahaha I have never experienced a place like this before. Mom would freak out hahaha it should be good when you come pick me up if you decided too. Well I LOVE my new companion. He is from Highland Park Idaho and he is a state champion wrestler in 130's. Haha he and I are so similar.. music, girls, very outgoing. I love this kid. It should be a good transfer. He thinks we'll only be together one which would be unfortunate. This area has not had a progressing investigator in 4 and 1/2 months so we have our work cut out for us. We are in a Spanish branch like I said last week with about 3 Brazilian families. It was different to have church all in Spanish but I can understand pretty well... It's speaking that is hard for me but... I'll get it! The hard thing about this area is we only work with Portuguese people but there is just not that many areas of Brazilians so... we have a lot of work ahead of us. We have a plan to go play soccer with a bunch of them this week and see if we can get them interested that way. We had no lessons this week.. haha yes 0 so :) Im stoked though because I'll probably die here and I plan on going out with a bang :).
So Bishop and I wrestled a bit Saturday because we were messing with nerf guns then it escalated into wrestling haha he is a strong kid. He is only about 155 or so and I have 15 pounds on him but he can wrestle haha. Not going to lie he could probably kill me in a match.. I just have weight on him which any wrestler knows that is a huge deal. Especially because I know what i'm doing a little bit so... He has some great stories!!
So story time.. Yesterday we went out walking looking for a former investigator and it's getting dark, Bishop is getting nervous and I am kind of like come on bro you wrestled ( I just don't know this area though) then all the sudden we hear this big loud African American's voice saying " you better get out of here boys, night is when the niggas come out" So im like huh interesting haha... so we start walking home because we are not in a good area at all.. as were walking home a black guy asks me for money as were walking by.. I am super close to the guy and I realize he has a knife.. We keep walking sayin we don't have money. He then tells me to give him my wallet. I say I don't have it and I keep walking.. During this time Bishop doesn't even know he has a knife and he is laughing out loud, the guy tells him to wipe the smile off his face which makes him laugh harder. So we just kept walkin and all the his boys behind him were loosing it because he was trying to rob us but we just keep going. I ask Bishop if that happens a lot here and he said ya people ask us for money all the time. Then I mentioned the knife and he was like he had a knife hahaha didn't even know haha he got so much street credit here now.. The missionaries just walk through anything :) so yes Welcome to Bridgport Ct.
I love this area and I have some high expectations... Elder Bishop and I are going to tear in up :)
