February 13, 2012

Hello,
Well this week was super interesting because we were off island for 3 days!!! We had Zone Conference on wednesday so we came over on tuesday afternoon then we had District Meeting on friday so we didn't want to waste a ferry ticket to go home then come back the next day mid-day. So we spent a full day on the Cape and tracted a little bit for the other missionaries. We also had the opportunity to help with the Pine Wood derby. Because we'll they have scouts here but haha there not all members.. kind of weird considering in Utah they're all pretty much members who do scouts. But anyways one of our members was helping with it and he told the leader that Elder Packer and I were Eagle scouts and the leader asked if we could come and be Eagles and Examples for the little scouts. We'll we went and they bought us a sweet scout shirt and we wore our tags with it. It was a good activity because we got to talk to a lot of people about the church. And I got to watch another pine wood derby :).. took me back haha. Other then that it was just ZC this week, It was a good zone conference and I know just about every missionary in the mission now haha that's when you know your starting to get old in the mission. I talked to president about you coming to pick me up and after that he asked how I liked the Vineyard and I told him I loved it here. He then told me how he trust me because well I'm on an island. I told him I appreciated it. I really do love President Evans I kind of wish I could have got to know him better on my mission. I also got to give a talk yesterday in church on Joseph Smith. It was great I talked for about 15-20 min and I had only prepared 5 min haha. I had a lot of materials so I could just go by what the spirit directed. It is super cool to feel the spirit working through you. The spirit is the most important part in teaching and learning. I am grateful for the spirit and the guidence we get from it as missionaries. Sometimes I loose sight of the fact that we have been set apart and we have the same titles are General Authorities. Elder Dos Santos, Elder Packer and I had a talk this last week about our missions. Mine has not been easy, and I've made some mistakes but I would never take back the time I've spent as a missionary for anything else. The good always out weighs the bad. The mission has changed me for life.
