Transfer update: Elder Packer got transferred to Connecticut and I was suppose to get an Elder Winegar but I got a call this last Wednesday saying there was going to be some changes and that Elder Wright would be coming here to serve with me on The Vineyard. I was super thrilled to have Elder Wright come and serve with me again. We have 2 transfers left and so we may get to end our mission together here on the Island. We haven't had much success at all the last little while but that may be do to the fact that I was dying (a term used in the mission for being burnt out). I was having quite the rough patch there and I had given in to my natural man and anger in certain circumstances. But I have been revived and my fire has again be lit with the arrival of Elder Wright. We were both struggling with certain things and we have decided that we are going to change our perspective these next 2 transfers. Go out with a bang so to say. We have set some worthy goals and we are determined to achieve them. So I need to apologize for not writing last week. Sorry I'll do better from here on out.
But anyways the weather here has been getting better and better. The Vineyard is going to be sweet right when I leave. Today we walked to come and Email and it was about 60 degrees and I was loving it. Daylight savings night sucked because I have gotten real use to getting my 8 hours of sleep and the lack of one was killing me yesterday. Yes I know i'm turning into a little baby when it comes to sleep :). Yesterday we shared a message with our Branch President and his wife who are pretty much like super heros because pres. brown does p90x everyday and sister brown didn't have an epidural with her baby... SUPER HEROS :) but we love them so much. We talked about how in 1 John ch. 4 verse 20 it says If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? and Elder Wright was talking about how this scripture is really an interesting thing to thing about because when we are out among our brothers and sisters and we treat them like crap in reality we are treating God like crap. Like in mosiah 2:17 it says And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellowbeings ye are only in the service of your God. So when we are doing a disservice to our brothers and sisters we are only doing a disservice to God. It is a very interesting point and I really loved the principle he taught with it. I love being around Elder Wright and as an MTC comp seeing the changes he has gone through on his mission is extraordinary. But i'm excited for this week and the next 6 to come. Thanks for your emails and your love.
Love,
Elder Burton
